Since the rev couldn't make it, I guess I'll provide the review... We arrived at Harper's Ferry a bit late because of Red Sox traffic, but the show started late anyway. Nice place... big room... sort of barn-like... and apparently BB King and Robby Kreiger have played there, amongst others. They have a decent elevated stage with a tiny drum riser. I think all the bands had trouble fitting on it. Revengeance dropped off the show at the last minute. Bannana Hammock - Better than I expected for a band with a name like that... they have this female shredding guitarist... who I thought I saw at Guitarmageddon a year or so ago...but my brother Eli says no...he might know better because he actually has some working memory... anyway...she was quite good and the highlight of the band. The vocals were... silly... a guy making jokes and yelling, and a girl singing... between bad gay jokes and complaints about the vocal monitor ... which turned out to be valid complaints (because the vocal monitor didn't work at all..or wasn't turned up past "jazz club" levels) Ravage - Ravage played next... well... we tried to... Eli's power amp of all things fizzeled out right before we were set to go on (the kid has spent about $3000 dollars... and counting...on various rack stuff and cabs etc... and he doesn't like his sound and now it is crapping out, so he is selling it off...the fool) so after about a 5 minute goofy delay, we played through our standard set (no vocal monitor, vocals not turned up loud enough for people to hear)... ran out of time and didn't get to play an encore. Ninja Vanish - good band, I had only heard of them, so I thought they were going to be some punk band, but they were actually quite prog... with a great drummer and good guitarists, they had some cool rhythmic stuff and vocal harmonies. Devil In the Kitchen - Sounded like they played their standard set... good stuff, I didn't actually get a chance to watch them because I got stuck watching the merchandise tables for everyone. No Alliegence - I hadn't seen them before, and they weren't really what I expected. I guess I thought they'd be more punk, but they were kind of noisy hardcore. I couldnt stay for their set, had to be off to my Dad's birthday. Decent show... moderate crowd / decent venue / decent sound (except for the vocals which were nil)
